But people they saved start getting picked off by the creature just lurking in the shadows. And it keeps getting closer and closer, circling ever nearer to those Sam and Dean have built the strongest emotional attachments to. And then someone like Charlie gets killed. And now it’s personal.
And then Cas gets captured and we see him being tortured but not who’s doing the torturing.
Until the end of the episode where the shot pans out to reveal Adam (or just demon!Adam possessing someone else) being all deliciously devilish and telling Cas all about how he saw him raise Sam’s body but could never understand why he wasn’t worth the effort too.
